Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
The systematic process of using administrative directives, organizations, and operational skills and capacities to implement strategies, policies and improved coping capacities in order to lessen the adverse impacts of hazards and the possibility of disaster. Prospective disaster risk reduction and management refers to risk reduction and management activities that address and seek to avoid the development of new or increased disaster risks, especially if risk reduction policies are not put m place. (Sec. 3(o) of Republic Act No. 10121)
Gawad KALASAG
KAlamidad at Sakuna LAbanan, SAriling Galing ang KaligtasanÂKalasag is the Filipino term for "shield" used by early Filipinos as a means of protection from attacks of enemies or harmful animals.Â
Relatedly, Gawad KALASAG was conceived to protect or shield high risk communities against hazards by encouraging participation of various stakeholders in designing and implementing Disaster Risk Management (DRM) programs.Â
Initiated in 1998, Gawad KALASAG is NDCC's current recognition scheme in its search for excellence on DRM and humanitarian assistance. It provides the mechanism in obtaining sustained commitment and support from the highest level of government by recognizing the exceptional contributions of the various DRM practitioners in rebuilding the resilience of nations and communities to disaster.Â

Geographic Administrative Units
RHU Catchments
The RHU Catchment Areas, designated by the Department of Health (DOH), define the geographic zones served by each Rural Health Unit in Rosario, Batangas.Â
Municipal Districts
The Municipal Districts, developed through the Watershed Approach to Land Use Planning, organize barangays based on shared natural resource systems such as watersheds.Â
Barangay Clusters
The Barangay Clusters, a community organizing strategy introduced in 1995, divide the 48 barangays of Rosario, Batangas into eight clusters, each composed of six barangays.Â
